Application statement filed with City Clerk’s office:
Peter Amundson
Age: 50
Occupation: City Councilman/Businessman
Re-elect Peter Amundson!
Peter was born and raised in Arcadia and he chose Arcadia as the place to own a home and raise his family.
Arcadia was voted the best city in California to raise kids. Peter helped make that happen.
Peter Amundson is President of his own successful business and earned a degree from UCLA specializing in State and Local Government. He brought a common sense approach to city hall.
Peter’s priorities are simple:
Public Safety comes first: Peter worked to add police, close massage parlors and strip clubs, keep slot machines out of Santa Anita, prohibit marijuana dispensaries and keep sex offenders out.
It’s your money: Peter treats dollarts like the hard earned money that it is. He fights waste and tax increases.
Traffic problems are being solved: Peter supports reducing traffic congestion by street widening, enhanced traffic light technology and better emforcement.
Invest in Youth: Peter Amundson has worked with schools, the library/museum and the community to keep Arcadia a great place for youth. He has spent over 25 years volunteering and serving youth through the KARE Youth League.

Peter,
I received again another flier from you today.
i was somewhat puzzled about the authenticity of your information.
I have googled Arcadia massage and Arcadia adult services, but i could not find anything that you found and listed on your flier.
I guess you might find them from some newspaers, either Chinese or English.
But they do not list the names of the city except telephone numbers.
It is unimaginable that Arcadia has so many sex trades activities as indicated in your flier.
If what you said are true, then in the past 4 years the whole city council has not done the right job in eradicating those illegal activities.
We can blame our police department too.
It may also mean that you were the only one that has been fighting on this, but you have not got the support of your 4 other colleagues on the city council. So, you ask Arcaidans to put you back to the city council again to do the same job.
If the latter reasoning is correct, then Bob Harbicht should not get reelected.
And Roger Chandler and Gary Kovacic should also be recalled. John Wuo is especially to blame because your information mainly implicated the Asian orgin of these actvities.
I do not believe that Arcadia has so many sex trade activities as you claimed.
If that is your campaign tactic and accusing Asian the culprits, then you will get the opposite effect.
I believe all massage places in Arcadia are legitimate and their customers are so too.
My wife likes to visit one of a massage spa in Arcadia, but not me because i am ticklish. If those places have been engaging in some illegal activities,i will be the first one to be notified. Some spas in Arcadia are restricted to women only.
I am disappointed that you sent this flier which misled the voters.
Dear Mr. Amundson:
Over the past two weeks I have seen a large truck that has a big picture of you seeking to get votes.
You have put yourself out as fiscally conservative person.
However, I cannot imagine that you can justify putting all this money into a large truck, honking and bothering people as it drives down the street.
If you say that another paid for it, I cannot believe you would allow another to pay for it.
Now, I see the truck, parked with other school buses on Santa Anita.
Peter, you should be ashamed of yourself.
I was going to vote for you too. Stop passing yourself off as a protector of tax dollars. You have wasted money, big time, and now you mix your campaign with our school buses.
Take care sir.
i think Peter Amundson is the most qualified person running for office.
he owens his own buisness business and has run it for many years.
he knows the consequenses of taxes
less profit means, less hiring, and no new equipment.
Our Country is Broke, all the way from our Local Government to County To
State and Federal. We have to stop this, and we have to start locally.
Stop the overtime and get costs under control.
All candidates have to understand who they will be working for, if elected
the Citizens who voted them in. and dont forget it.
The City( City manager and employees ) think that you are working for them
its the other way around.
Also cost of Government is way to high. Wages are way more than the private sector and retirement is way out of control.
Just look at the list of ex empooyees who are now retired and see what the total is, including lifetime health insurance. its stagering.
Peter,
I am curious whether a truck with a big sign on it violates the city code or not.
Of course our Constitution grant us the freedom of speech.
Then anybody can put up any sign with any size and language in it.
And LA city attorney should not have fought with the advertizers on the billboards.
I do not know where is the line drawn, maybe our city manger can tell us and the candidates.
The fact that the candidates increasingly put up the signs on the car, pickup and truck really necessitates a review of the code in this field.
Maybe Doris has a point that how could a person who does not know how to save monies himself could save monies for others,i.e. the voters/citizens.
