Larry, as a friend of Mr. Wooden, you know all the great things about him. The L.A. Times did a great job putting the pieces together, but your article does so much justice to this GREAT MAN!! Thanks for the write up.

Larry: Many thanks for a great article. As you may recall, my wife Barb and I as UCLA students ushered at Pauley Pavilion in the early 70s and have passionately enjoyed UCLA basketball (now as long-time season tickets holders) ever since. I cherish a photo of Coach Wooden and our son Casey sitting in Coach’s favorite seat at a game and a kind, hand-written note from Coach Wooden to me regretfully declining my invitation to speak at an Arcadia Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast a few years ago. He is certainly a national treasure.
Keep up the great reporting and personal profiles.
