Arcadia’s Showta karate champ

Showta Moriyama is about to enter Arcadia High School as a freshman.

That’s a big deal for a 13-year-old after graduating from First Avenue Middle School. But if one of his teachers asks him to do a project about what he did during his summer vacation, he’s ahead of the game. That’s because Showta not only won a major karate competition on July 11 against competitors several years older than him  — the Kyokushin Karate Freshman Tournament –he also produced a video about the experience.
