Congratulations to Arcadia Weekly’s Terry Miller for being appointed editor of the city’s only newspaper and a vital community resource and voice for many years.
I have come to know and greatly respect Terry over the last few years as we have bumped into each other at many local events. As he explained in the July 29 edition of Arcadia Weekly, he has deep family roots and a passion for journalism, which I find clearly evident in his terrific and award-winning photographs and his penchant for providing perspective to the news stories he has reported and written in recent years.
Amid the many changes and evolutions at Arcadia Weekly over the last several years, Terry has remained the one editorial constant and visible connection to the paper.
Like many people in many jobs these days who find themselves doing twice the work for half the pay, I know Terry is wearing multiple hats and probably doing the work previously done by a handful of staff, while covering not only Arcadia but also expanding to cover four neighboring towns, Monrovia, Temple City, Sierra Madre, and Pasadena.
It takes the tenacity of someone like Terry to meet those kinds of challenges. I appreciate the community service he is providing and applaud his commitment and dedication.

I just want to second Scott’s comments about Terry. My wife and I have known Terry for probably 10 years. Not only is he a great photographer, but he writes very well. Yes, he is outspoken, and at times not everyone may agree with his views, but that is his exercise of “freedom of the press”, as it should be. I know he will do a great job as editor (and still photographer) of the Arcadia Weekly.
Congratulations to Terry Miller. I know he will continue to do an excellent job.
