Ralph’s Florist ribbon-cutting for new owner 8/31

The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, for new owner Mary Werner of the venerable Ralph’s Florist at 109 S. First Ave., Arcadia.

Ralph’s Florist was established in 1925 by husband and wife Ralph and Mary and has been run in recent years by their son Allen Yack.

The shop is now co-owned by business partners Mary Werner, a lifetime resident of Arcadia and CEO of Studio Floral Productions, and Althea McCollum, CFO of corporate parent Studio Floral Productions Inc.

Studio Floral Productions is a flower shop on a film lot in Los Angeles that serves the entertainment industry, including shows such as “Mad Men,” “Better Off Ted,” “Prison Break,” and events such as a celebrity golf tournament hosted by Halle Berry.
