Helicopter rescue crew deputies from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Air Rescue 5 received a call on Friday. July 13, of a person who had fallen more than sixty feet at the base of Hermit Falls at the Chantry Flat Campground north of Arcadia in the Angeles National Forest.
A rescue sheriff’s deputy paramedic from the Emergency Services Detail was lowered from a helicopter to the victim, who is from Moorpark, and he was treated at the scene. He was ultimately hoisted by deputies into the Air Rescue 5 helicopter and transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Chantry Flat is an unincorporated area of the forest, north of Arcadia, which is policed by the Temple Sheriff’s Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department: www.Temple.lasd.org
