ACA gala another success


The Arcadia Chinese Association once again put on an enjoyable and entertaining annual fundraiser gala Nov. 1. Walk of Champions dedicated Downtown


Several hundred people turned out for the dedication of the Arcadia Historical Society's Thoroughbred Racing Walk of Champions in Downtown Arcadia on Saturday, Sept. 27. Guide Dogs of America pup “Abner,” who will visit Arcadia AAUW on June 9 along with his trainer Carol Jarvis.

Retired Temple City school teacher Carol Jarvis is rarely seen without a canine companion by her side. That’s because Carol is an official “Puppy Raiser” for Guide Dogs of America. This job is not new to Carol. In the past twenty years, as a volunteer, she has raised ten guide dogs and has “puppy-sat” for dozens more.
