Every month is a fun and pleasant surprise of different vehicles showing up to Carcadia @Route 66. The Aug. 24 event was no different, with more than three dozen cars representing everything from a World War II-era jeep to the most modern sports cars.
Carcadia @Route 66, created by Glenn Oyoung’s Turn3 Creative and sponsored by the non-profit community events group Arcadia’s Best Foundation, is held every fourth Sunday of the month from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. in the parking lot behind Denny’s restaurant off Santa Anita Avenue at Huntington Drive.
Owners of all cultures and ethnicities present their cars and enjoy coffee and breakfast at 15% off, courtesy of Denny’s restaurant and manager Ema Shulton who allows Carcadia to be staged in the eatery’s parking lot and who also has a love of 1950s Thunderbirds, which she is seen standing beside in photos at left and right. Photos below show just a few of the cars at the August event. Got a car or vehicle that you think is cool? Bring it to the next Carcadia @Route 66 on Sept. 28. (Click on all photos below to enlarge.)
