The Assistance League of Arcadia‘s recent Meeting and Annual Luncheon at the Altadena Country Club featured the theme of the incoming President Barbara Parrott, “We Treasure Our Volunteers.”
ALA 2015—2016 Board: Glenda Vanni, Donna Rey, Carol Misakian, Fran Hermann, Leigh Chavez, Jill Kendrick, Patti Beith, Barbara Parrott, Susan Dahle, Sandi Consiglio, Maryann Gibson, Shirley Curley, Shary DeVore; Kneeling: Karyn Chien, Diane Lucas, and Lucy Mao
Outgoing President Kay Kinsler passed her title to Parrott as Diane Lucas, dressed as a jovial pirate, installed the crew of new officers for their 2015—2016 voyage. Assisted by her costumed parrots, Lucy Mao and Karyn Chien, Captain Diane presented each officer with a treasure from her chest to assist them on their impending adventure. Sheryl Schreiber, Karen Tanner, and the Social Committee created a festive atmosphere with colorful parrot centerpieces, surrounded by golden coins, reflecting the pirate theme. Highlighting the afternoon, were two special award presentations for outstanding service to the Arcadia ALA Chapter.
