AHS marching band in 2017 Rose Parade

The Arcadia High School marching band has been selected once again to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade a little more than a year from now on January 1, 2017.

The surprise announcement was made via video during tonight’s football game at the AHS stadium, with 2017 Rose Parade President Brad Ratliff attending to help tout the news.

This will be the 16th Rose Parade in which the Apaches have participated (the last time being 2012), along with marching in the inaugural parades of Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1957 and George W. Bush in 2005, as well as the very first Super Bowl in 1967 and an appearance in an official NFL commercial in the Super Bowl this year. The band also performed at the Alamo Bowl in 1996 and the Gator Bowl in 2001 and 2009 and in the World Series in the early 1980s.
