AHS music club Facebook votes

The Arcadia Music Club, a non-profit 501(c)(3) supporting music programs at the Arcadia High School, has been chosen as one of the charities eligible for grant money this year from Chase Community Giving. But supporters must submit votes on Facebook in order for the club to receive any money.

The Chase Community Giving program is providing more than $5 million dollars in grant money to charities based on community support shown through Facebook voting and Chase online customer voting. Each Facebook user gets two votes that must be used for different charities. Arcadia Music Club needs votes to be among the top 196 out of thousands of charities to qualify for a grant.

There are direct links to both Facebook and Chase customer voting at http://www.arcadiamusic.org/ Voting ends at midnight on Sept. 19.

The Arcadia Music Club has been around for more that 50 years and provides thousands of volunteer hours each year as well as financial support for the students and directors.

AHS has three orchestras that earn the highest ranking at festivals. The Apache Marching Band and drum majors have been earning awards for years. AHS choral groups are always competitive and have three percussion ensembles and a varsity percussion line that has been a national finalist for over 10 years and National Champions in 2011. The world color guard has also been a national finalist for years.

Music Club helps support all these groups, and several hundred students participate in these activities. Voting on Facebook and through Chase will help these groups maintain their tradition of excellence and get even better!
