For the period of Sunday, November 19th through Saturday, November 25th, the Police Department responded to 854 calls for service, of which 112 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, November 19:
1. At 12:16 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Las Flores
Avenue regarding an audible alarm. Officers discovered a rear door glass panel had been
broken. No property was stolen, and no suspects were located.
2. At 6:28 a.m., an officer responded to two residences in the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue
regarding community mailboxes that had been pried open. No losses were reported at the
time of the report.
Monday, November 20:
3. At 4:31 a.m., officers responded to Mitry Pharmacy, 145 East Duarte Road, regarding an
audible alarm. Three males wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen near the rear of the
building standing next to a dark colored Dodge Charger. An investigation revealed they
had attempted to force entry into the rear door before fleeing the scene.
4. At 11:28 p.m., officers responded to Tea Maru, 57 Wheeler Avenue, regarding the report
of a burglary. Unknown suspects gained access to the location by using a key from a stolen
lock box. The unknown suspects stole the cash register. The unknown suspects returned
the next day and stole four tablets from the back room.
5. At 2:49 p.m., an officer responded to Fasching’s Car Wash, 425 North Santa Anita Avenue,
regarding an intoxicated subject driving with his child in the car. Upon contacting the
driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a
series of tests, the officer determined the 47-year-old male from Azusa was driving under
the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City
Jail for booking.
6. At 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of West Camino Real regarding a road
rage incident with two men fighting in the street. One man exited his vehicle holding a
hammer and plant shears and the other man grabbed a pole from his vehicle. The subject
with the pole knocked the hammer from the other man’s hand. That man then retrieved an
axe from his vehicle and hit him with the dull side of the axe. The 56-year-old male from
Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, November 21:
7. At 3:26 a.m., officers responded to Orchid Orthopedic, 11911 Clark Street, regarding an
audible alarm. Officers discovered the rear glass door to the business had been shattered.
There was no loss reported at the time of the report.
8. At 9:00 a.m., officers responded to a construction site at 338 East Foothill Boulevard,
regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) entered the location and stole $11,000
worth of copper from the flooring, walls, and ceilings.
9. At 9:46 a.m., officers responded to a commercial building at 400 East Live Oak Avenue
regarding a theft in progress. The suspect was seen stealing components from AC units on
the roof. The 39-year-old male from Victorville was arrested and transported to the Arcadia
City Jail for booking.
10. At 8:36 p.m., officers responded to Sunglass Hut, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a
theft that had just occurred. Five suspects entered the location and grabbed several pairs of
sunglasses, $20,000 in value, before fleeing the scene without paying for them.
Friday, November 24:
11. At 12:52 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of South Tenth Avenue
regarding an attempted burglary report. The victim was in her kitchen when she heard
someone knock at her door. The victim did not answer the door. Moments later, the
unknown suspect attempted to pry the door open.
12. At 4:16 p.m., officers responded to Rusnak, 101 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding the
report of a stolen vehicle. The suspect stole a Mercedes from the carwash at the location.
The suspect and the vehicle were later located by officers of LAPD Rampart Division.
13. At 6:58 p.m., officers responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, 400 South Baldwin Avenue,
regarding a robbery that had just occurred in the food court area. The suspect grabbed two3
gold chains from the victim’s neck and fled the scene on foot. Officers located the suspect
hiding nearby. The 15-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the
Arcadia City Jail for booking then transported to Juvenile Hall.
Saturday, November 25:
14. At about 9:19 a.m., officers responded to Potato Corner, 400 South Baldwin Avenue,
regarding the report of a burglary. Unknown suspect(s) stole money from cash registers at
two separate kiosks. The investigation is ongoing.
