Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, April 6th through Saturday, April 12th

For the period of Sunday, April 6th through Saturday, April 12th , the Police Department responded to 1,011 calls for service, of which 100 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, April 6:
At approximately 8:59 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Cortez Road regarding a package theft report. A witness reported a lone male suspect stole a package containing a laptop from the victim’s front porch. Assisting officers attempted to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 6’1” tall, with shoulder length hair and wearing a red sweatshirt.
Monday, April 7:
At approximately 8:34 p.m., officers responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa Anita
Avenue, regarding a theft that had just happened. Surveillance cameras captured a Hispanic
female stealing nearly $500.00 worth of children’s clothing. An area search was conducted but the suspect was not located.
Tuesday, April 8:
At approximately 8:12 a.m., an officer responded to GameStop, located at 400 South Baldwin
Avenue, regarding a fraud investigation. The officer discovered someone stole the victim’s wallet and then used the stolen credit card to fraudulently purchase more than $840.00 at GameStop.
Wednesday, April 9:
At approximately 3:03 p.m., an officer responded to Par 3 Golf Course, located at 620 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding an aggravated assault report. An investigation revealed the suspect, a 38-year-old male from Temple City, violated a restraining order and tackled the first victim. Then he hit a second victim in the face with a pipe. The suspect fled in a black sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, April 10:
At approximately 6:50 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Workman
Avenue regarding a burglary that occurred a few days ago. On April 5th at 11:41 p.m., surveillance cameras captured a lone male suspect burglarizing the residence. The loss is unknown.
Friday, April 11:
At approximately 12:29 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of South Second Avenue regarding a hit and run traffic collision. An investigation revealed that the suspect hit multiple parked cars then fled the scene. Assisting officers located the suspect and discovered he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The 30-year-old male from Garden Grove was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, April 12:
At approximately 8:57 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Norman Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined the suspect, the victim’s ex-boyfriend, battered the victim and vandalized her car. The 27-year-old male from Whittier was located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
