Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, August 11, through Saturday, August 17



For the period of Sunday, August 11, through Saturday, August 17, the Police Department responded to 987 calls for service of which 122 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.





Sunday, August 11:

1. At 2:37 a.m., an officer made a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle being driven without headlights during the hours of darkness. When the officer contacted the driver, they noticed the driver had objective symptoms of intoxication. Based on these observations, the officer conducted a series of field sobriety tests and determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The driver was arrested and booked at the Arcadia Jail..


Monday, August 12:

2. At 6:21 a.m., a male subject came to the police department to speak with an officer. During the contact, the officer noticed the male subject was displaying symptoms of someone under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer conducted a series of tests and determined the subject was under the influence. The subject was arrested and booked at the Arcadia Jail.


Tuesday, August 13:

3. At 9:09 a.m., officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle by our FLOCK camera system. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle. During a search, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered in the driver’s pocket.


Wednesday, August 14:

4. An officer responded to a burglary investigation in the 100 block of East Foothill Boulevard. The officer learned that just after midnight, a black Lexus SUV parked in front of a neighboring

business and five suspects approached the location. One of the suspects smashed the glass front door and they entered the business. The suspects ransacked the business, stole cash and fled in the SUV.

5. At 11:43 a.m., officers responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 400 block of West Wistaria Avenue. Officers arrived and conducted an area check but were not able to locate any suspects. The officer learned that three male black suspects smashed the rear sliding glass door, entered the location and encountered the resident. The suspects fled the scene in a white SUV without any property. The crime was captured on CCTV.


Thursday, August 15:

6. At 9:54 p.m., officers responded to Carl’s Jr., located at 165 East Duarte Road, regarding a robbery that had just occurred. Officers conducted an area check for the suspect but were not able to locate him. An employee told officers that a male wearing a ski mask and gloves entered the restaurant and demanded money. The employee said the suspect had his hand in his pocket and they believed he may have been armed. Fearing for their safety, the employee gave the suspect money, and he fled on foot.


Friday, August 16:

7. At 6:15 p.m., an officer responded to a theft investigation in the 200 block of South Santa Anita Avenue. The victim reported that they received notification of a package being delivered on their doorstep at approximately 5:20 p.m. A family member went out to retrieve the package and saw a female running away with it. The female entered an awaiting older black Honda, with no license plates, and left the area.


Saturday, August 17:

8. The Arcadia Police Department continues to use GPS trackers in packages to combat mail and package theft. At 6:11 a.m., officers were alerted to a mail/package theft. Officers were able to track the package, locate and arrest a suspect. During the investigation, officers located a vehicle associated with the suspect. Inside the vehicle officers located stolen mail, credit cards and keys used to open mailboxes.
