Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, January 26th through Saturday, February 1st


For the period of Sunday, January 26th through Saturday, February 1st , the Police Department responded to 1,008 calls for service, of which 108 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.


Sunday, January 26:

At approximately 2:29 a.m., officers responded to Arco AMPM, located at 625 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a robbery report. The clerk stated three men entered the store, threatened him with a handgun, and fled with food. Utilizing department resources, the officers discovered the suspects’ vehicle was stolen from Hacienda Heights. El Monte Police Department reported a similar incident shortly before our robbery.


Monday, January 27:

At approximately 7:50 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of East Live Oak Avenue

regarding a mail theft investigation. Surveillance cameras captured a lone male suspect pry open four mailboxes. The loss is unknown.


Tuesday, January 28:

At approximately 5:26 a.m., an officer responded to Forza Gas, located at 2 East Duarte Road,

regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The officer determined unidentified suspect(s)

smashed the front glass door, activating the alarm system, and fled with lottery tickets.


Wednesday, January 29:

At approximately 5:49 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Rancho Road regarding a burglary in progress. The victim was home when four burglars smashed a window to enter the home. They were scared off and no loss was reported. Surveillance cameras captured the suspects’ vehicle as a white truck.


Thursday, January 30:

At approximately 7:21 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Public Works yard, located at

11800 Goldring Road, regarding a theft from vehicle incident. Public Works employees discovered numerous city-owned vehicles had been broken into during the previous night and the suspect(s) fled with portable batteries.


Friday, January 31:

At approximately 10:27 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle without license plates but the driver failed to pull over and a pursuit ensued. The suspect eventually parked the vehicle and was located by officers near the intersection of South Santa Anita Avenue and East Rodell Place. A search of the vehicle and a records check of the suspect revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, stolen property, and there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A second suspect has been identified and is outstanding.


Saturday, February 1:

At approximately 7:28 a.m., an officer responded to Drive-In Liquor, located at 10 East Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance cameras captured two suspects exit their black SUV, pry open the front door, and steal lottery scratchers and alcohol.
