Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, July 7, through Saturday, July 13


For the period of Sunday, July 7, through Saturday, July 13, the Police Department responded to 917 calls for service of which 99 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.




Sunday, July 7:

1. At 10:32 p.m., an officer responded to a burglary alarm at the 600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. The site, which was under construction and enclosed by a chain-link fence, had the property owner on-site after being alerted by the alarm company. An investigation and subsequent interview revealed that a Hispanic male was found sleeping at the vacant property. The property owner requested to press charges, which resulted in the suspect being arrest without incident.


Monday, July 8:

2. At 9:00 p.m., an officer responded to an in-custody arrest at 400 S. Baldwin Avenue (The Shops at Santa Anita, Nordstrom). A woman entered the store, hid merchandise, and left without paying.

She assaulted the loss prevention personnel when they tried to apprehend her, resulting in minor injuries. The stolen item was a $278 dress, and the woman was subsequently arrested.


Tuesday, July 9:

3. At 10:30 a.m., an officer responded to 400 S. Baldwin Avenue (The Shops at Santa Anita), to

investigate a recent theft incident. According to the victim, two individuals wearing hoodies met the victim on the north side of Macy's regarding a Facebook Marketplace ad for luxury items. Upon the victim's arrival with the bags, the suspects pushed the victim, took the items, and fled to a waiting vehicle driven by a third individual. The getaway vehicle was identified as a black Kia Forte with damage to the driver and passenger side doors. Subsequently, at 11:15 a.m., FLOCK cameras captured the vehicle in Claremont. The responding officer spoke with on-site security, who will review CCTV footage for additional information. The investigation is ongoing.

4. At 1:12 p.m., an officer responded to a domestic violence report in the 500 block of Windsor Road. Upon arrival, the victim recounted that around 1:00 p.m., while in his bathroom at home, he heard his ex-girlfriend's (“suspect”) voice. He discovered she was inside the residence, and she mentioned entering through the unlocked front door. The victim asked her to leave, threatening to call the police. During the call, the suspect attacked the victim, biting his right hand. The victim managed to push her away, lock himself in the bathroom, and call the police. The suspect fled around 1:10 p.m. in a black four-door BMW. The victim and suspect had dated for about four years but were not currently together or living together. The officer found that the suspect had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and a suspended California Driver License. The victim declined medical attention, sought prosecution, and requested an Emergency Protective Order, which was granted. In addition, the officer provided the victim with domestic violence resources.


Wednesday, July 10:

5. At 1:30 p.m., on Greenfield Avenue's 2000 block, a male wearing a bandana mask entered the victim's yard. Upon being confronted by the victim, the individual fled to a gray Honda Pilot. Using FLOCK, the vehicle was traced back to a 2009 model registered in the Los Angeles area. PACE officers are currently investigating the matter.


Thursday, July 11:

6. Officers responded to a residence on Alta Street following an armed robbery report at 7:35 p.m. The victims, who had just returned from shopping in Beverly Hills, were approached by four male suspects outside their vehicles. Two of the suspects were armed with black handguns and demanded the victims' Rolex watches valued at around $100,000. Concerned for their safety, the victims gave up their watches to the suspects. Authorities gathered descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle, and an investigation is currently in progress.


Friday, July 12:

7. At 6:06 a.m., officers were called to the 400 block of Diamond Street in response to a GPS package device alert. Upon searching the area, the officers found the suspect riding a bicycle in the 400 block of Genoa Street. Subsequently, during their inquiry, officers discovered the GPS package device in the suspect's backpack, leading to the suspect's arrest.

8. At 1:46 p.m., officers were called to 400 S. Baldwin Avenue (Macy’s at The Shops at Santa Anita) in response to a recent robbery. The suspect was confronted by Loss Prevention while leaving the store. The suspect assaulted the agent and escaped. Dispatch informed the officers that the suspect was spotted running southbound on Huntington Drive. A containment area was set up by the officers, leading to the suspect's arrest behind 600 W Huntington Drive.


Saturday, July 13:

9. Between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., a residence on the 800 block of Fairview Avenue had its front door forced open and the interior was ransacked. The resident reported the theft of $5,000 in cash and a US Passport. The residence is not equipped with any CCTV cameras or alarm system.

10. At 12:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of California Street in response to a

physical altercation involving a man and a woman who are in a dating relationship. The

investigation determined that the female was the main aggressor and was arrested without incident. Neither party sustained any injuries, and the male did not wish to press charges.
