Baldwin Avenue Streetscape Improvements
The first phase includes the sidewalk, rehabilitation of the
streets, street tree removal, and replacement and the
installation of electrical lines to light the trees. In December,
Gentry Brothers completed the majority of the concrete
right-of-way improvements along Baldwin Avenue from
Huntington Drive to Duarte Road and from Naomi Avenue
to Camino Real Avenue. Remaining concrete work is minor
and is to be completed as utility companies’ complete
adjustments of their utilities in the right-of-way. Additionally,
Gentry Brothers has been preparing the tree wells for the
tree planting that is expected to occur in January.
Huntington Corridor Traffic Signal Improvement Project
This project is intended to upgrade existing traffic signal
equipment including cabinets, traffic signal heads and
pedestrian signal heads at Huntington Drive from Holly
Avenue to Michillinda Avenue. In December, Yunex Traffic
commenced underground work at various locations, which
included potholing, installing new conduit and cables, and
adding stub-outs for loop detections. Further underground
work is scheduled to continue next month.
New Paris Baguette Café Opens for Business at 7 W.
Las Tunas Drive
Paris Baguette has opened a new location featuring outdoor seating at the newly constructed business development located at 7 W. Las Tunas Drive. The café was formally located at
The Shops at Santa Anita but was closed in 2021. Paris Baguette offers a wide array of baked goods and café staples like sandwiches and salads.
