Santa Anita Park needs 300 Arcadia resident volunteers to serve as hosts and guides at the 2012 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championship November 2 and 3 (Friday and Saturday).
To enhance the experiences of guests coming from all over the world for what is known as the Super Bowl of horse racing, Santa Anita Park is looking for locals who can: welcome guests at the gates and hand out lanyards, serve as escorts to horse owners, supervise private hospitality areas and public rooms, assist Breeders’ Cup administrative and publicity staff and assist at control points throughout the facility.
Those who are personable, can be on their feet for most of a day, and have pride for Santa Anita Park and the general community will be good candidates for these volunteer positions.
Volunteers of past years take great pride in representing the city of Arcadia to 50,000 attendees from all over the globe at this world-class sporting event right in our own backyard!
If you are interested, please send an email to Pete Siberell at Santa Anita Park (psiberell@santaanita.com) or Breeders’ Cup Volunteer Coordinator Connie Russell (connie.russell@hotmail.com). Your name will be added to the Breeders’ Cup volunteer database and you should be hearing from staff at Santa Anita shortly!
