FIRE DEPARTMENT ACHIEVES 100% CARDIAC LIFESAVING (AGAIN)

I wanted to take a moment to recognize our Paramedics and other Fire personnel for once again achieving a 100% Ustein survival rate in our Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) statistical reports. This statistic shows the survival rate of lives that can be potentially saved related to cardiac arrest. Basically, if we had a chance to save a life, we did. Kudos to all, but especially to those overseeing the EMS program: Battalion Chief Rick Oishi, Captain Drew Pryor, and our contract medical staff. These folks have been instrumental in the department’s training and quality improvement efforts over the years.
