Fire Department Weekly Report - June 2 – 8, 2024


The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of June 2 – 8, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time period:

Sunday, June 2

At 1:38 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in the 200 block of North Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 63-year- old female that had a complaint of a syncopal episode. Fire personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram and intravenous therapy.

The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, June 3

At 6:35 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in

the 100 block of North Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an 81-year-old

male with an altered level of consciousness. The patient received a full medical evaluation

that included a 12-lead electrocardiogram and intravenous therapy. The patient was

transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Tuesday, June 4

At 5:34 p.m., Engine 105 responded to an outdoor fire in the 200 block of North First

Avenue. Fire personnel arrived to find a trash can on fire and utilized a fire extinguisher

to extinguish the fire. No property damage occurred.

Wednesday, June 5

At 5:41 a.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 41 responded to the intersection of Santa

Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive for a reported traffic collision. Fire personnel arrived

to find a two-vehicle traffic collision involving two patients. One patient with shoulder pain

was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and the second patient

with minor injuries was released on scene.

Thursday, June 6

At 4:09 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in

the 400 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 67-year-old

female with a complaint of a syncopal episode. Fire personnel performed a full medical

evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram and established intravenous

access. The patient was found to be hypotensive and received normal saline

intravenously. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Friday, June 7

At 5:23 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident in the 900 block of Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 12-

month-old male with a complaint of febrile seizure. Fire personnel performed a full medical

evaluation which included an electrocardiogram, intravenous access, and a blood glucose

check. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.


Saturday, June 8

At 5:55 p.m., Engine 106 responded to a reported biohazard investigation in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Fire personnel arrived to find a sewer line that had backed up causing a sewage spill.

Fire personnel cordoned off the area and worked with representatives from Arcadia Public Works, Los Angeles County Flood Control, and Los Angeles County Health Department to mitigate, clean, and disinfect the area.
