The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week
of March 24 – 30, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this
time period:
Sunday, March 24
At 6:34 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision
reported on the west bound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel arrived to
find a two-vehicle traffic collision with one patient claiming minor injuries. The patient was
treated and released on scene.
Monday, March 25
At 6:34 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 500 block of West
Duarte Road for a reported 74-year-old male suffering from chest pain. Paramedics
performed a 12-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose testing, intravenous access, and
transported the patient to Arcadia USC Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Tuesday, March 26
At 1:14 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 41, Rescue Ambulance 41, Urban Search and Rescue
106, and Battalion 105 responded to a rescue call on Bailey Canyon Trail in Sierra Madre.
The patient was reported to be approximately one mile up the trail. Upon arrival, fire
personnel found an injured female with ankle deformity. The patient needed assistance
down the hill from fire and rescue personnel. Once the rescue operation was complete,
the patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Wednesday, March 27
At 11:24 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a report of a two-
vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Duarte Road and Golden West Avenue. Upon
arrival, there were two injured female patients but one denied treatment. The patient who
received care was a 52-year-old female with multi-system trauma. Fire personnel
performed a full medical evaluation and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital
for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, March 28
At 7:05 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a report
of a medical patient in the 400 block of Harvard Drive. Upon arrival, there was a 74-year-
old patient with a complaint of a hypertensive crisis with weakness and dizziness. Fire
personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous therapy, blood
pressure check, and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia
Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, March 29
At 12:07 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a report of electrical wires down at the
intersection of Duarte Road and Second Avenue. Upon arrival, there were wires laying
across the sidewalk and blocking the path of travel. Fire personnel created a boundary
around the hazardous area and mitigated the problem. Southern California Edison was
notified to respond and shut down power to the affected pole.Saturday, March 30
At 4:14 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 200 block of West
Huntington Drive for a reported 38-year-old female in distress. Paramedics arrived to find
a fall victim with complaint of left arm pain. Paramedics performed a 12-lead
electrocardiogram, blood glucose testing, intravenous access, pain management, and
transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
