The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week
of December 22 – 28, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for
this period:
Sunday, December 22
At 5:24 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in
the 00 block of East Santa Clara Street. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel found a
53-year-old male with an altered level of consciousness and heart palpitations. The
patient was identified to be suffering from an overdose and received Narcan to reverse
its effects. The patient also received a full medical evaluation which included a 12-lead
electrocardiogram (EKG), intravenous therapy, blood glucose check, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, December 23
At 3:24 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in
the 100 block of Campus Drive. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel found a 75-year-
old male with a complaint of a shortness of breath. The patient received a complete
medical assessment which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Tuesday, December 24
At 7:18 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 200 block of West Le Roy Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel found an
84-year-old male with an altered level of consciousness. The patient received a complete
medical assessment which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Wednesday, December 25
At 11:05 a.m., Engine 107, Engine 105, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion
105 responded to the 400 block of Concord Avenue in Monrovia to assist with a structure
fire with multiple exposures threatened. Fire suppression personnel arrived to deploy
hose lines to protect adjacent structures that were starting to catch on fire and secure
utilities for firefighter safety. No injuries occurred during this incident and the cause of this
fire remains under investigation.
Thursday, December 26
At 9:25 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 200 block of East
Colorado Boulevard for a reported person down. Fire suppression personnel arrived to
find a 36-year-old male that was suffering from an overdose. Paramedics treated the
patient with advanced life support protocols including EKG, blood glucose testing, oxygen
saturation testing, intravenous fluids, and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital
for further treatment.
Friday, December 27
At 10:10 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident
in the 00 block of East Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel
found an 86-year-old female with a complaint of syncope. The patient received a full
medical evaluation which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous fluids, oxygen therapy,
and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Saturday, December 28
At 12:53 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident
in the 2000 block of Louise Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel found an
88-year-old male with an altered level of consciousness and hypotension. The patient
received a 12-lead EKG, intravenous fluids, blood sugar check, and was transported to
USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
