Fire Department Weekly Report - week of February 16 – 22, 2025

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of February 16 – 22, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:

Sunday, February 16
At 2:30 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, there was an 87-year-old female with
a complaint of an altered level of consciousness. Paramedics performed a complete
medical assessment which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG), intravenous
therapy, and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, February 17
At 12:11 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 107, Truck 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
200 block of La Porte Street for a reported gas leak. Fire personnel arrived on scene and
found a ruptured gas line due to construction. The area was evacuated, Southern
California Gas Company was notified, the leak was resolved in approximately three
hours, and businesses were allowed to return to the building.
Tuesday, February 18
At 10:52 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 105, Truck 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
400 block of South Baldwin Avenue for an electrical fire. Fire personnel arrived and found
electrical lines arcing and burning. Electricity to the electrical system was shut down and
the small fire was extinguished. The damage was inside a construction area and no
additional property damage occurred.
Wednesday, February 19
At 2:29 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical
incident in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found
an 86-year-old male with a complaint of shortness of breath. Paramedics checked the
patient’s blood sugar and obtained base line vital signs. The patient’s oxygen saturation
appeared to be low and causing the associated symptoms, and was given a 12-lead EKG,
intravenous therapy, an albuterol breathing treatment, and was transported to USC
Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Thursday, February 20
At 2:57 p.m., Engine 105, Truck 105, BLS 106, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion
105 responded to a report of a person hanging near the 00 block of Alta Street. Upon
arrival, fire personnel found a 62-year-old male lying on the floor inside a garage in cardiac
arrest. The patient received a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, oxygen with assisted
ventilations, CPR, and cardiac medications. After over 20 minutes, the patient was still
not responding to any of the lifesaving measures being performed and was determined
deceased by a USC Arcadia Hospital physician. Arcadia Police Department remained on
scene to assist with scene control and the coroner’s office.
Friday, February 21
At 12:42 p.m., Engine 105, Truck 105, Rescue

Ambulance 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, BLS 106, Battalion 105, and units from Pasadena Fire Department responded to a report of a six-vehicle traffic collision on the westbound 210 Freeway between
Baldwin Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found rolled onto the Metro tracks, one was on its side with a patient requiring extrication, and
four other vehicles were involved in the collision. Metro and the 210 Freeway were shut down to mitigate the
hazards. Two patients were transported to Huntington
Hospital for further treatment.
Saturday, February 22
At 5:54 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a report of an assault
at the corner of Baldwin Avenue and Naomi Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a
54-year-old male with facial lacerations and pain due to an alleged assault. The patient
received a full trauma evaluation and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further
treatment.
