
The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week
of January 26 – February 1, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded
for this period:

Sunday, January 26
At 6:04 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 200 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 77-year-old
female exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a series of stroke tests on the
patient and identified the patient was experiencing a stroke. The patient received a 12-
lead electrocardiogram (EKG), blood glucose check, intravenous therapy, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, January 27
At 11:58 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 91 responded to a medical incident in
the 00 block of North Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 70-year-
old male with a chief complaint of a chest pain. The patient received a full medical
evaluation which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and cardiac medications.
The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital for further treatment.
Tuesday, January 28
At 10:01 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 41 responded to a report of a medical
incident in the 100 block of Foothill Boulevard. Upon arrival, fire personnel encountered
a female patient who was combative and exhibiting signs of an overdose. The patient was
attempting to bite and spit at first responders. Once sedated and restrained, fire personnel
conducted a full medical evaluation which included vital signs assessment, 12-lead EKG,
and intravenous therapy. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further
treatment.
Wednesday, January 29
At 12:35 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 300 block of
Las Tunas Drive for a person reported as unresponsive. Fire personnel arrived to find a
94-year-old female suffering from what appeared to be a syncopal episode. The patient
was treated with advanced life support protocols including intravenous therapy, cardiac
monitoring, blood glucose testing, and was transported to San Gabriel Valley Medical
Center for further treatment.
Thursday, January 30
At 3:27 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to the 1300
block of Golden West Avenue for a reported traffic collision. Fire personnel arrived to find
a 69-year-old female and the patient was evaluated and treated on scene but denied
further care.
Friday, January 31
At 7:02 a.m., Engine 107 responded to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Dexter
Avenue for a reported rubbish fire. Fire personnel arrived to find a large roll-off container
with burning vegetation. The fire was quickly extinguished by using a single hose line and
contained to the area of origin.
Saturday, February 1
At 4:04 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in
the 300 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 73-year-old male
with a complaint of general weakness. Paramedics found the patient’s blood sugar to be
extremely elevated and performed a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and fluid
challenge. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
