The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of March 23 – 29, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:

Sunday, March 23
At 10:13 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident
in the 500 block of La Sierra Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an 87-year-old
female exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a series of stroke tests on the
patient and identified the patient was experiencing a stroke. The patient received a 12-
lead electrocardiogram (EKG), a blood glucose reading, intravenous therapy, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, March 24
At 6:50 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a report of a two-
vehicle collision at the intersection of Huntington Drive and La Cadena Avenue. Upon
arrival, fire personnel found a car had crashed into a Foothill Transit bus. No one was
injured on the bus, but two patients from the car had complaints of multi-system trauma.
Fire personnel conducted full medical evaluations on both patients, including vital signs
assessment, a 12-lead EKG, and intravenous therapy. The patients were transported to
Huntington Hospital for further treatment.

Tuesday, March 25
At 9:54 p.m., Engine 106 responded to the 600 block of Duarte Road for a public service
request. Fire personnel arrived to find an elderly male without injury or medical complaint
requesting assistance out of his vehicle. This person was assisted out of his vehicle and
was escorted into his residence to ensure his safety.
Wednesday, March 26
At 1:23 p.m., Engine 107, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105
responded to the City of Monrovia for a reported commercial structure fire. The first
arriving engine company reported light smoke inside came from burning incense and
canceled all other responding units.
Thursday, March 27
At 12:29 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, BLS 106, Rescue

Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to a
reported traffic collision on the westbound 210 Freeway
near Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found
a three-vehicle traffic collision near the right shoulder of
the freeway. One vehicle was pinned underneath a semi-
truck’s trailer with the driver still inside. The driver of the
pinned vehicle was able to self-extricate without injury.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was complaining
of a shoulder injury from the accident and was transported
to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment. California Highway Patrol assisted with
traffic control and the removal of the disabled vehicles from the roadway
Friday, March 28
At 10:36 a.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical
incident in the 300 block of West Longden Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a
54-year-old male with traumatic injuries and an altered mental status after an attempted
suicide. The patient received a 12-lead EKG, blood glucose check, intravenous therapy,
a fluid challenge, and was transported to Huntington Hospital for further treatment.
Saturday, March 29
At 2:51 p.m., Engine 105 and Engine 101 responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the
700 block of West Huntington Drive in Monrovia. Upon arrival, fire personnel found trees
and vegetation burning against a building. The fire was extinguished using multiple hose
lines, hand tools to mop up the vegetation, and the fire was contained to the area of origin.
