Fire Department Weekly Report - week of March 9 – 15, 2025

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of March 9 – 15, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:

Sunday, March 9
At 11:53 p.m., Engine 107, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a medical
incident in the 1300 block of Rodeo Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 62-year-
old female with a chief complaint of chest pain. The patient received a full medical
evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG), intravenous therapy,
aspirin and nitroglycerin, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further
treatment.
Monday, March 10
At 8:35 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 1100 block of Okoboji Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 5-month-old female
with a complaint of nausea and vomiting. The patient received a full medical evaluation
which included a 12-lead EKG. The parents of the child refused further care.
Tuesday, March 11
At 10:01 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a report of a trash fire in the 100 block of Wheeler
Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a large trash can that was emitting smoke and
fire. The fire was extinguished by using a 1 ¾” hose line and was contained to the area
of origin.
Wednesday, March 12

At 6:00 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and Battalion 105 responded to a medical incident in the 300
block of West Huntington Drive to assist with a medical evacuation air transport of a 15-year-old patient. Fire personnel transported the medical team and the patient from the hospital to the helicopter, while Battalion 105 coordinated with UCLA Medical Center and Reach Air to establish a landing zone.
Thursday, March 13
At 5:43 p.m., Engine 106 responded to the 1000 block of Huntington Drive for a reported
animal rescue. Fire personnel arrived to find a kitten with its paw stuck in the metal grate
protecting a heater. Fire personnel were able to calm the kitten and free its paw without
injury.
Friday, March 14
At 4:53 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Engine 101,

Truck 105, Truck 101, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the 1900 block of Sixth Avenue for a reported structure fire. Fire personnel arrived to find a single-story residential structure with
heavy smoke and fire conditions showing and quickly initiated an offensive interior fire attack. The fire was contained to the building of origin and no injuries occurred during this incident.
Saturday, March 15
At 6:45 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a report of a fall in
the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 54-year-old
male with a complaint of head pain after being struck by a horse. The patient received a
full trauma assessment which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and painmedication. The patient met trauma criteria and was transported to Huntington Hospital
for further treatment.
