Fire Department Weekly Report - week of May 26 – June 1, 2024



The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 26 – June 1, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time period:




Sunday, May 26

At 5:42 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in

the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 22-year-old

female with a complaint of facial injuries and altered mental status after falling from a

horse. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose check,

intravenous access, and transported the patient to Huntington Hospital for further

treatment.

Monday, May 27

At 10:58 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a medical

incident in the 100 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, there was one patient

with a complaint of hyperglycemia and blurred vision. Fire personnel performed a full

medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure check, and

electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

treatment.

Tuesday, May 28

At 8:29 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a traumatic

injury in the 200 block of Renoak Way. Upon arrival, there was an 80-year-old male with

a complaint of a traumatic head injury and bleeding from his ears. Fire personnel

performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure

check, and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital for

further treatment.


Wednesday, May 29


At 8:00 p.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, Battalion 105, and Rescue Ambulance 41 responded to a report of an overturned vehicle in the 1800 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, there was one patient that self-extricated from the vehicle. Fire personnel performed a full medical evaluation on the 65-year-old male who

had a chief complaint of back pain, but he refused further treatment.









Thursday, May 30

At 2:39 p.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded

to a two-car traffic collision in the 1600 block of South Tenth Avenue. Upon arrival, there was one vehicle that was trapped

under another vehicle. Fire personnel utilized extrication equipment to lift the vehicle and safely removed the patient and

performed a complete medical assessment.








Friday, May 31

At 6:18 p.m., Engine 107, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident in the 500 block of North Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found

a 60-year-old female with a complaint of seizure. Fire personnel performed a full medical

evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous access,

obtained a blood glucose reading, and monitored the patient for further seizure activity.

The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.Saturday, June 1

At 11:19 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident

in the 400 block of South Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 44-

year-old male with a chief complaint of chest pain. Fire personnel performed a full medical

evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous access,

and administered cardiac medications. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia

Hospital for further treatment.
