The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week
of October 27 – November 2, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types
recorded for this period:
Sunday, October 27
At 4:52 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
6000 block of Sultana Avenue to assist with a reported residential structure fire in Los
Angeles County’s jurisdiction. Fire suppression personnel arrived to find smoke and fire
showing from the front of a single-story structure. Truck 105 was assigned to assist crews
with ventilation and a secondary search of the structure. Five victims were identified; three
fatalities and two critically burned victims were transported to Los Angeles County
Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, October 28
At 6:45 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a vehicle
versus pedestrian incident at the intersection of Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue. Upon
arrival, fire suppression personnel found a 78-year-old male with traumatic injuries after
being struck by a vehicle. The patient received a full trauma assessment, which included
a 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) and intravenous access. Paramedics determined the
patient met trauma criteria and transported the patient to Huntington Hospital for further
treatment.
Tuesday, October 29
At 2:56 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a medical
incident in the 00 block of West Le Roy Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel
found an 81-year-old male exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a series
of stroke tests on the patient and identified the patient was experiencing a stroke. The
patient received a 12-lead EKG, a blood glucose check, intravenous access, and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Wednesday, October 30
At 10:40 a.m., Truck 105 responded to a report of a carbon monoxide alarm activation in
the 100 block of Alta Street. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel used a multi-gas
monitor to check for levels of carbon monoxide and confirmed there were over 25 parts
per million in the atmosphere. After ventilating the affected area, fire suppression
personnel ensured that no further hazards were present.
Thursday, October 31
At 6:10 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in
the 400 block of East Santa Clara Street. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel
evaluated a 2-year-old female experiencing an allergic reaction. The patient received a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, medications for her allergic reaction, and was
transported to an emergency room approved for pediatrics for further treatment.
Friday, November 1
At 6:23 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 600 block of Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression personnel found a 63-
year-old female exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a series of stroke
tests on the patient and identified the patient was experiencing a stroke. The patient
received a 12-lead EKG, a blood glucose check, intravenous access, and was transported
to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Saturday, November 2
At 7:23 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a reported traffic
collision in the 2400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire suppression
personnel found a single-vehicle traffic collision with a parked vehicle. Paramedics
performed a full medical assessment on the injured driver suffering from chest and neck
pain and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.
