The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of September 15 – 21, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for
this period:


Sunday, September 15
At 3:12 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Truck 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
1000 block of West Huntington Drive for a reported appliance fire. Fire personnel arrived
to find a large two-story multi-family residential complex with light smoke coming from the
first floor. Further investigation led to an oven, and fire personnel utilized positive pressure
ventilation to remove the smoke from the structure and one fire extinguisher to extinguish
the fire. One elderly female suffered minor burns and was evaluated on scene.
Monday, September 16
At 1:08 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 100 block of
Campus Drive for a reported person down. Fire personnel arrived to find a 15-year-old
male experiencing seizure-like activity. Paramedics initiated advanced life support
measures including intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, blood glucose
testing, and medications. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further
treatment.
Tuesday, September 17
At 9:42 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a reported traffic
collision in the 1100 block of Las Tunas Drive. Fire personnel arrived to find a two-vehicle
traffic collision involving two patients. A 57-year-old male was released after receiving an
evaluation, and a 37-year-old female received intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring,
blood glucose testing, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Wednesday, September 18
At 8:16 a.m., Engine 105, Truck 105, and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a
reported vehicle into a structure in the 100 block of Alta Street. Fire personnel arrived to
find a single-vehicle traffic collision involving two patients. Both patients refused care and
were released on scene.

Thursday, September 19
At 6:36 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a report
of a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Las Flores
Avenue. Upon arrival, there was one patient with a chief complaint of multi-systemtrauma. Fire personnel performed a full trauma assessment and transported the patient
to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Friday, September 20
At 10:53 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a reported gas leak in the 100 block of Colorado
Place. Fire personnel arrived to find a light odor of natural gas in a construction site and
utilized monitoring devices ensuring there was no combustible hazard. Southern
California Gas Company was requested to the scene to further investigate the issue. No
persons were exposed to the leak and no damage occurred.
Saturday, September 21
At 2:37 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a reported traffic
collision at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Las Tunas Drive. Fire personnel
arrived to find a three-vehicle traffic collision involving three patients. Paramedics
evaluated two patients, and both refused treatment and transport. The third patient is a
61-year-old male and received intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring, blood glucose
testing, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
