Push-in ceremony is a time-honored tradition in the fire service that dates back to the
1800s when animals were unable to push horse-drawn equipment back into the fire
station. That meant, at the time, the fire personnel had to physically push the equipment
back into the station.
On December 12, while hosting an open house event for city employees at Station 107,
employees and city council members were there to help celebrate this special occasion
and welcome the arrival of our new engine. Fire Chief Chen Suen gave a speech and the
new engine was pushed into the station.
