High school facilities tour

About 700 local residents, school board members past and present, and parents of students took tours of many of the completed new facilities at Arcadia High School on Saturday (Dec. 11). Hundreds waited in line for students to lead them in groups around the entire campus and all seemed very pleased and impressed every step of the way, from the new Student Services Building on Campus Dr. though the new Science building closer to Duarte Road and the new lecture hall added to the construction with money saved on bids that came in lower than expected on the primary buildings. Principal David Vannasdal met with each group at the end of the tour, thanking them for their support of the quarter-of-a-billion dollar bond measure that made it all possible and which will also pay for a new Performing Arts Center yet to be built, among other work still to be done at the high school and all other schools in town.
