Inside Grand Prix at Long Beach

A few years ago I became familiar with Sir Speedy when it was in Downtown Arcadia on Huntington Drive and provided almost all the printing for Rick Caruso’s effort to introduce the Shops at Santa Anita.

Since then Caruso gave up on his Shops, new owner Shane Seneviratne moved Sir Speedy to Monrovia, and I became the CEO of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, where Shane and I came to know each other. It happens that Shane is also something of a team manager for the IndyCar race car driven by 24-year-old Swiss racer Simona de Silvestro. These are the same cars and drivers you’ll see next month at the Indy 500. Shane was kind enough to invite me to join he and his Sir Speedy and IndyCar partner David Martinez in the car owners’ Hospitality Village, the team garages, and even the pits during two days of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach April 20-21. What an experience, as you’ll see in the video below.

This is part of an experience that Shane offers to anyone interested in paying $500 for a three-day Owners Pass that not only gets you into Hospitality Village where you can enjoy free drinks and delicious food buffets, but also access to the garage areas for an up-close look at the race cars just minutes before and after each race. The IndyCars are coming back to SoCal for the season finale Oct. 18 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.

Meantime, Seneviratne and Martinez are offering all manner of printing services at Sir Speedy, which produces the printed marketing materials for the KV Racing team, including the one at right that also promotes the message of car sponsor Nuclear Clean Air Energy.

Contact Shane Seneviratne directly about your printing needs and to reserve a limited number of Owner Crew Passes for the October race: 626-303-8800 / shane@sirspeedyca.com).
