Jack Lamp has been named the City of Arcadia’s 2012 Senior of the Year by the Senior Commissioners and the Arcadia Rotary Club.

He will be honored by Senior Commissioners, Rotarians, and Councilmen, and other guests at the annual Salute to Seniors luncheon sponsored by the Arcadia Rotary Club 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8 at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive. Tickets are $4 per person and go on sale Tuesday, April 3rd for Arcadia residents and Wednesday, April 4th for nonresidents.
Jack has been a volunteer at the Community Center for the past five years, providing service for the elderly population in the community. He has worked at the information and referral front desk, serves as a Center Ambassador each Wednesday afternoon, which includes hospitality, socialization, and information about current programs and services offered to senior citizens. In addition to his weekly volunteer duties, Jack is currently a member of the senior citizen commission which meets monthly to advise on pertinent issues, programs and services that are made available to meet the needs of the older adult community.
Jack’s volunteer contributions also extend out into the City, serving as an usher at Holy Angels Church, Methodist Hospital Rehabilitation Center, Vice President of the Highland Oaks Homeowners Association and Junior Chamber of Commerce.
