Bob Travis of the Santa Anita A’s car club will be the guest speaker at the March 20 Arcadia Historical Society membership program, where his own Model A will be on display. Travis will present “Henry Ford: The Man and His Cars,” a 15-20 min. talk about the history of the Ford, followed by a 15-minute movie about his Model A group touring Death Valley.

The program, which is open to the public and includes refreshments, will be held from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive, beginning with brief Society membership business, including a discussion and a vote on proposed revisions to the Arcadia Historical Society bylaws reflecting the Society’s renewed focus on community outreach about Arcadia history.

Updates on an April 17 dedication of the Society’s newest Historical Marker and this year’s Creative Expression Contest will be discussed.

With the Arcadia High School putting on the musical “Guys and Dolls” in late March, Bill Clark, parent of one of the actors, will make a special brief presentation about the history of the production, with displays of historical memorabilia from the original Broadway play and the subsequent movie starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.
