Motorists and the Police Department

In 1931, the Arcadia Police Headquarters was available

until midnight for motorists’ examinations, to obtain applications for drivers’ licenses and for license renewals.

California’s Department of Motor Vehicles was established in 1921 and became a stand-alone Department in 1931; prior to that it was a part of the Department of Finance.
