On Sunday, June 09, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Arcadia Police Officers responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 400 block of Walnut Ave in the City of Arcadia. The caller advised he was the homeowner and could see several people inside the residence who should not be there. While he was waiting for the officers to arrive, the suspects exited the residence and a physical fight occurred between the suspects and homeowner. During the fight, the homeowner, fearing for his safety, discharged a firearm into the air, which ended the physical altercation.

Officers arrived and detained one suspect in front of the residence. Three more suspects had

driven away from the scene in a car and were detained by officers shortly after. No one was

injured by gunfire, but paramedics responded to the scene to treat the homeowner and suspects for minor injuries sustained during the physical fight.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the suspects had taken over the residence, and were attempting to establish residency. All four suspects were arrested and charged with

residential burglary. Arrested were Uried Benitez, a 32-year-old male from Los Angeles,

Stephanie Burwell, a 35-year-old female from Baldwin Park, Phyllis Cheong, a 29-year-old female from Los Angeles, and Marisa Williams, a 31-year-old female from Long Beach. The case is currently under investigation.
