About The San Gabriel Valley Choral Company
The San Gabriel Valley Choral Company (SGVCC) was founded in 1995 to give local singers the opportunity to “stretch their minds and vocal chords.” The ensemble includes singers from the San Gabriel Valley, the Inland Empire and other local communities. Its repertoire has included music from the Renaissance period to works of the late 20th century. Artistic Director Dr. Alexandra Grabarchuk is a Ukrainian-born musicologist and conductor who also conducts and organizes the Contemporary Choral Collective of Los Angeles (C3LA) and is a mezzo-soprano soloist. She teaches at Scripps College, Chaffey College and Chapman University, and works as a score reader for the Metropolitan Opera.
