Santa Anita Motor Inn

The first “motel” in Arcadia was the Santa Anita Motor Inn built in 1937, and located on the northwest corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Clara Street. Its unique modern style made the facility an instant success and a popular destination for visitors. This distinctive design made it to the cover of the national travel brochure you see reproduced for today’s tidbit. The complex was demolished in 1973.
