Scene of a Rodeo in Progress in Arcadia

Some time after Baldwin’s Santa Anita racetrack was closed (1909), rodeos were frequently held at the vacant facility. This activity ceased after a disastrous fire consumed the grandstand. Some say the blaze from the fire could be seen as far away as San Gabriel.
