Arcadia High School students are mounting an ambitious $1 million fundraiser to help reduce the number of teachers targeted for layoffs.
Arcadia Student Body publicity commissioner Jinnee Lee says the AHS Million Dollar Fundraiser was created with the goal of raising awareness about the budget crisis and increasing the amount of donations to the Arcadia Educational Foundation, starting with $500 from the parents of each student.
On Monday, April 18, ASB will go into all high school classrooms to drop off a flier and envelope for each student, as well as host question-and-answer sessions. Donation envelopes will be collected Wednesday, April 20.
