Vet monument dinner at Elks 1/23

An invitation is extended to all San Gabriel Valley community members to attend a fundraising dinner for a planned Vietnam War veterans monument. The dinner on Saturday, January 23 at the Arcadia Elks Lodge, 27 W. Huntington Drive, will help the Arcadia Vietnam War Monument Committee raise money for the construction of a striking Monument in L.A. County’s Arcadia Park.

The monument will pay tribute to all living Vietnam veterans and memorialize the 14 Arcadia servicemen who were killed or missing in action from 1967 to 1974 in South Vietnam.

For only $20 per person, dinner will include a choice from three different pastas and toppings, individually heated and prepared to order by an on-site pasta bar chef, as well as salad, rolls and butter, a choice of beverages and dessert. A full no-host bar will be open before and during the dinner hour.

Any Vietnam-era veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955 through May 15, 1975, regardless of location, will receive a United States Government issued lapel pin along with a copy of the Presidential Proclamation Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.

A 50/50 raffle, door prizes and a special raffle for valuable gift baskets promise to make the evening interesting for all.

The Arcadia Elks is a Commemorative Partner of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. This multi-year commemoration, instituted by the United States Government under the auspices of the Department of Defense, aims to thank and honor 7.2 million living Vietnam veterans and the families of all 9 million who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955-May 15, 1975, regardless of location.
